I'm putting my bet on the number 17 car and Matt Kenseth. I believe he'll handle the pressure better in the second half of the chase and pull off a second championship, thereby putting to rest all those claims that he didn't deserve to win his first.

That reminds me of a good story. When Matt won the last Winston Cup the broadcast announcers went a little overboard, to the point of asking if a driver who'd only one one race during the season deserved to be champion...Right up till Benny Parsons in a voice so calm said "The year I won my championship I only won one race to. It was consistency week after week that put me on top, just like Matt did." I've never heard professional sports casters shamed to silence before and consider it to be a priceless moment in broadcasting, regardless of the sport.

Jeff Burton because he has managed to avoid all the problems the others have had. I wish it was Jimmie Johnson but I don't see that happening.

First Mark Martin.
If he does not get it then the rookie Denny Hamlin.
If he does not get it then the underdog Jeff Burton.
