you could check out several websites:
www.clafrance.com
www.tourisme.fr
every city in France has its own website. Just type the name of the city you are interested in into your browser and you will come up with plenty of information..
For geograpical features try typing Alpes Maritimes - geography in your browser... (that covers most of the area of the Riviera and the hills behind it).
You have the perfume industry's center in the small town of Grasse..plenty of interesting things there.
You can also include Monaco in your research, it is a principality, but it depends on France.
For foods type in "french cuisine, mediterranean area" (that should open a lot of pages for you.
As to clothing, I don't really know where to direct you there! try "fashion France" or shopping for clothes, French Riviera.
(Or go directly to the most famous french department store:
Galleries Lafayette, I know they have a store in Nice, and probably more in other towns along the coast.

Hope this is enough info to start you off...
Good luck with your project.

You can go to Fodor's website and read about every country you every wanted to visit. www.fodors.com they print national travel books. Nice is not the only town on the Cote D'azur, other towns are Nimes, Avignon, Arles, Uzes and Provence to name a few. All with very distint cultures. Good Luck!
