My vote is to go to the Island of St. Martin in the French West Indies and stay on Orient Beach. One popular smaller resort on that beach is shown here: http://www.alamanda-resort.com/msie4.htm...
It is a relatively casual resort within a few footsteps of a wonderful beach. The beach is topless but only a half mile walk to a totally nude portion of the beach. Very quiet compared to a lot of beaches, hardly any noise pollution like radios. Lots of couples on honeymoons etc. I went for 10 consecutive nights in late April and Early May and it was FANtasTIC. One of the best times to go they say is November to January or April and May. Avoid July-October cuz of Hurricane season. Another great thing is that St. Martin is only a 2 hour boat trip to St. Barth which is a good side trip. St. martin is half Dutch heritage and half French. The Dutch side is noisy with casinos and the French side is quieter with fine cousine and pristine beaches. A number of airlines fly there including US Air which goes direct from Charlotte. Take passports for sure you will need them. People are very friendly. Rental cars are inexpensive and you can get all inclusive insurance for a small amount.

I would say, Hatyai in Songkhla South Thailand but currently I don't know about the politcal sitiuation there.

My country Malaysia is having a Visit Malaysia Year 2007.
If you're into sight-seeing and shopping, my state Penang is the best. Why not come here!

Your trip to Malaysia will start in KLIA or the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and take a connecting flight to Penang.

In Penang an average room for a 5 star hotel is only around USD90, a dorm or budget is around USD30.

In terms of variety and price. We have the branded goods like CK, Armani, JPG and more as well as trinkets and antiques. Tour shopping malls, bazaars, night markets and also sidewalk vendors. You are sure to find a bargain. FYI our Pewter is famous and is a must buy for tourist visiting Malaysia.

The food here is great and you will be spoiled for choice. Malay food, Chinese food, Indian food, Indian Muslim Food, Thai food and more. Be adventurous and try the sidestalls or stick with the restaurants you can't go wrong. A meal will cost around USD2 for the cheapest (A soft drink and food)

Yes, we have Mcd 24/7 for those unwilling to try or miss home.
A meal of a large bigmac, fries and coke will cost around USD3.

Malaysia is a former British colony and Penang has a rich legacy from that era. Come see our rich history.

What you need to know in advance.

1. Have good walking shoes.
2. Dress for a humid and hot climate
3. Bring along your diahorrea meds / antacid
(some travellers do get it spicy food and such)
4. Camera
5. A guide book for Malay but most of us can speak English.
6. Beach wear, its an island too!!!

Ok then. I think that's it. You can hire me as a guide to bring you around if you like. Good journey
