I am thinking of saying he's dead. Just to shut them up. People at work and all over pry way to much and I don't like saying 'IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS'. How would you handle this?

Depends on how pushy the person is. Say 'he died' lol or I'd rather not talk about that

Just tell them "I'd rather not say." When they get tired of hearing that, they will realize it's time to talk about something else. Don't bite anyones head off because some may be genuinely concerned as friends, while others may just be nosy. In either case they will get the message.

feel free to make something up. I would. I'm happily married to the father of both my kids but because he has dark features and my kids are both very fair (my family genes) most people think they are not his kids and ask about their "real" dad. They even ask him about it and tell him how great he is for taking them on as his own.
He sometimes gets really upset about it but has been know to go with the flow and make up a story. My favourite........after being asked where the kids real dad is he told them he killed him to get him out of the picture so he could steal his family. I love it.
They only wanna know so they can judge you so stuff them tell them he's dead that will shut them up fast.

Only tell people as much as you want them to know. Its up to you at the end of the day who u tell things to. I personally hate talkin about myself and issues close to me so I try and change the subject or smile and say 'yes everythin is fine'. That usually works for me!

You could say something like, "You know, that's a subject I don't care to talk about." Then, quickly change the subject to something else. Soon they'll get the message.
