At first we had only despotism.

Then we had monarchies and emperors, with the rare democracy of Athens and Republic in Rome. But both were not like today's 'democracy'.

Then we had liberal monarchies.

Now we have "democracies".

But they are not really democracies. They are plutocracies, where only the wealthy can be CANDIDATES, and govern.

Do you agree with this? And isn't this wrong?

And when can we expect real representative democracy on this planet?

The US Government is set up as a Democracy (the masses rule for all). However, the foundling fathers set it up as a Republic (I can do my thing as long as it does not interfere with your thing).

Most forms of governments today are either a Plutocracy or a Kleptocary.

I don't like a democracy . A Republic is far better but there are none around.

It's the Golden Rule. The people with the most gold get to make the rules. And Rulers. Even is some poor guy does battle his way into a position of power, he soon ends up doing pretty well by him or herself. Castro and chairman mini-mao (Kim Jong ill) are certainly not suffering any privations.
