Bill Haley and The Comets...back in the day was one of the first "real" rock and roll bands. The music was loud fast paced and really was a hit with the young crowds of America. They were unique at the time as that 'type" of music was just getting started.....and look where we are today! Though I don't really care for that era of music>"Oldies"...I always liked 'Rock Around The Clock" as it to me was a staple for the beginning of rock and roll....hehehe..... ;)

Bill Haley was the first to incorporate the blues into a jazz style and the media called it rock an roll. His beginning beats of music set generations to come.

Bill was originally a Country and Western singer. He was the first "King of Rock and Roll", a title he lost to Elvis Presley. As stated earlier he combined Jazz influences with Blues and his Country background, which was a first for a white singer.

Rock around the Clock was very innovative, I think it was written by someone else though.
