i dont know what park you go to but I work at cedar point and in the summer we close at 11. right now for halloweekends we close at midnight. the only reason why some parks close in the winter is for safety issues. Ice can be deadly on a coaster track.

I agree. I wish they would build a dome that could enclose it during the winter. Maybe if they didn't put up a new ride every year they could save their money for a dome. I would definitely wait for it. Seems to me they would make a lot more money if they invested in making a functional park all year long. Some places have in door water parks, why not in door theme parks. We can dream.

Disney theme parks are open 365 days with limited hours in the winter. Most smaller theme parks are opened seasonally for obvious reasons like bad weather and lack of tourists. Plus, insurance policies may limit them, too. Seriously, would you be hitting the roller coasters in subzero weather with ice on the tracks. Think about it!

I agree with others that in Florida you could go year round. Cedar Point does stay open until 11pm or midnight during the summer though & it's in Northern, Oh which is why it closes for the winter. Too cold!!!!!!

Move to sunny central Florida where Disney World and the other parks are open year round and stay open into the late evening. The annual pass for Florida residents is pretty reasonable, so you can visit whenever you want.
I went to Epcot yesterday and it was such fun. Last week, we went to the Magic Kingdom. The parade was great.

I agree. The problem is, however, a matter of economics. Our "Magic Mountain" theme park in Valencia CA is going to be closing next year due to financial problems. The later hours are when the crowds thin out--thus forcing the early closure of some parks.

Cedar Point, Sandusky Ohio...#1 !!! for obvious reasons, theme parks are open seasonally. Cedar Point does stay open later, on specific nights...often till 11p.m. and midnight, during there Hallow-Weekends. This weekend...end of season. Last chance to ride on! I thinks its great, awaiting the anticipation of a new season, new rides, new thrills. Have you ever rode a coaster in 30 degree weather? You should try it! My 360 was taken at a Cedar Point resort...my shirt, as well...Cedar Point thrills!

The roller coasters and most of the other rides don't run well when it's really cold. But mostly it about profit, and lack there off. Families are the ones that spend the $ and they go home to put the kiddies to bed earlier.

I think that they should perhaps have indoor rides like mall of america that they could keep openn year round but it might be a safety hazard.
