Well, Decade is a nice collection, and it's too bad the liner notes are too tiny to read on the CD because they tell a sentence or two about each song on the record, in Neil's own handwriting.

Best song? That is so subjective! My favorite song is Will to Love, but that is for such sentimental reasons. Another great song is from Mirrorball, I'm the Ocean.

Even though I am a Skynerd fan and a Southern Man, or I guess because of it, the song "Southern Man" really hits home. I don't take it as a putdown. I hear it as a plea to southern guys at that time to do the right thing. It's like, we know you all don't agree with the Klan, but why do you stand by while they commit such terrible crimes. He says, if I see somebody hanging from a tree "Swear by God I'm going to cut him down" At the time this song came out, these were strong words.

That's tough question. Young is so different from album to album because he likes to experiment. Different, too, from his work with CSN to his own band, Crazy Horse. I guess I'd go back to the old classic After the Gold Rush, but others like Rust Never Sleeps, etc. could easily catch my ear on a given day. Good question.

Wow that is a tough one. His Prairie Wind is absolutely excellent... songs that really MEAN something, because they were borne from his facing surgery for an aneurism. The DVD of his concert the Ryman in Nashville is one of the BEST concert movies I've ever seen.
