I have had trouble keeping my account to a positive balance. The bank recently put a block on paying debits but lifted it when I brought account to positive balance. How are they likely to handle this in the future? I know I have been irresponsible handling this. I am experiencing some tough times trying to get my disability payments starting.

Go to the bank and apologize for the account problems and explain that you are having a difficult time, they'll understand the past problems, and in the future...DON'T USE YOUR CARD IF YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY...and FYI...just in case you're not sure...don't write cheques if you don't have money in your account either!

they will always decline debit transactions when your account is in a zero balance or below ..unless you have overdraft protection.

They may cancel your account if you continue to have these problems.
