Yes, lonliness can cause it...or rather, fear of her leaving and him being alone...low self esteem...low self worth...the person who would tolerate this doesn't think much of themselves and that is sad...
I hope he finds some self confidence and realizes he's better than the treatment he's getting...and tells her she needs to "show him the love" or leave...

Its true love I guess. He cant just turn his back to the attraction he felt towards the woman. Its something to do w/ the smell of breath and body that the guy found in the woman. He needs to be closed w/ her to experience this smell.
another way is that maybe the woman is in a relationship and this guy just watching and waiting for the right time.

No i wouldn't say it's lonliness i would say the man may be a little into a s&m lifestyle and maybe he doesn't even know it... Maybe he loves and does everything for this woman because she shows no love for him

I'm afraid so. Don't waste your time. The man should be loving himself more and the woman would love him back. If she shows no love, give no love. A relationship goes 2 ways.

Remember: a person who doesn't love him- herself cannot love anybody else. Does she seem lonely to you? You are able to tell- not me. Loneliness can make a person very depressed... and that can cause numbness... so the answer is: yes, maybe it's because she is very lonely...and therefore unhappy and incapable of loving someone who cares.

Because he's a henpecked, pu'ssy whipped wuss that lets himself be consumed and controlled by his (lame) emotions. He probably has no interests or hobbies or life of his own, and he probably also wants to f'uck his mother, which is why he bends over backwards so far to please her. He's just SOOOO dedicated and feels noble about this, and yet so unfulfilled and empty and cheated because his efforts are not reciprocated. Is this someone you know? (wink, wink)

It's just his nature probably, were all made up of different personalities. I feel as long as you are honest and straight forward with the guy, and no one actually "gettin hurt", all is OK. Your not in charge of his happiness.

It can be loneliness and it can be because he thinks he can eventually change her. It could also be that he does not feel that he deserves anyone better. Or she could be good looking and he could just be shallow.
