Aiya...the other answers have been pathetic....lemme help u out...Im somewhat of a buff in this.
Basically, the hunter-gatherer did not yet know how to farm or keep domestic animals. Therefore, they hunted for food using primitive stone weapons such as stone knives, stone spears, etc (hence the name stone age). Also, hunter-gatherers went through the forest or woods in search of wild fruits, vegetables, and roots to eat. They were highly dependent on the weather and nature for food. If there was a drought, people would die.
Therefore:
If you were to write a story on this, a good topic may be:
creating a stone tool or weapon
hunting an animal
identifying edible vegetables
decorating a cave lolz
cave painting
how to create a fire
about competition for food
what to do when something attacks
Additionally:

there are already stories about try reading the clan of the cave bear
look it up on amazon its a great read you will realy enjoy it

well, during stone age it was cold
people killed buffalo for warmer clothing and stuff
they used the buffalo's teeth and bones for spoons, ext......
