A second person testified today that Hastert knew that Foley was being inappropriate to Congressional pages. Should Hastert resign? If not, why?

So you think that if Hastert knew Foley was sexually harrassing pages under 18 - then lied about it - that he should remain Speaker?

No debate there - IF Hastert knew of Foley's indiscretions and did nothing, he should resign. Whether or not he performed his job in an excellent manner or poorly is not the issue.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I believe that a politician owes it to the American people he represents to be honest and hold himself to a high moral standard.

IF Hastert knew about Foley's fun-filled frolics via email or in person, and IF Hastert failed to tell Foley to knock it off,and IF Hastert failed to enlist the help of the Chief (or whatever he's called) of the Pages, then yeah he should resign.

I believe anyone who knew should resign.

You see Republicans on her talk about Garry Studds (and ALL of them on here never heard of him until he DIED), and about Clinton (although, if I remember correctly, he has sex with an ADULT), but this is different. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY RAN ON A MORALS ISSUE, stating they would bring morals and family values back. So far, we have seen just as much corruption and scandals just like the last administration. They are hypocrites, and so are the people who are supporting them on here.

Why resign now....it would just cost the taxpayers more money. He will lose come Nov. then the next person can take over the job. He may not resign, but he should be very ashamed. Maybe there is other reasons he covered it up......maybe he has involvement......maybe blackmail (who knows).

No, because big fat drunk Tip O'Neill didn't resign although he knew full well that Gerry Studds was porkin' a page. That had to be worse than inappropriate e-mails.

He should - as soon as Bill Clinton retroactively does.
