Yes your baby should have been starting on solids by now, TALK TO YOUR PEDITRICIAN NOT US! They will tell you when and what to give to your baby. GET A CLUE OR DON"T HAVE KIDS.

Gosh I HATE when people reply to questions and are so rude especially when there is no need, anyways...U can start with rice cereal by adding it to the milk bottle, making it thick like grits, cream of wheat etc., also U can purchase a few jars of baby food that U think ur baby will like and try giving it to the baby with a spoon. My daughter loved green beans, and squash, she ate all the other baby foods as well but those were her favorites. Also adding the cereal to the milk, especailly before bed time had my baby sleeping thru the night bcuz she was so full. I started my baby on cereal at 2 1/2 mos and started giving her baby food at 4 mos. Good luck!!

The ideal weight is a large range in fact, and should be following a curve that has been tracked by your pediatrician. Do they not do that in the US? They are fanatics about that here in France... Anyways, I'll give you a link of the CDC growth charts. Scroll to the middle of the page and click on the link for boys.
It's not necessary to have started solids if you are breastfeeding. If giving formula, you need to try to at least give iron-fortified cereal to him. This can be added to his bottle of milk if he doesnt want to try the spoon. To get him used to the idea, let him play with a spoon throughout the day... he'll take to it eventually.

Anywhere from 15 to 22 pounds is ideal for a 7 month old boy.... and yes, he should be starting solids now. Talk to your pedi about how to get him started.

this is like a milestone for babies. switching from milk to solids.
you must sit down with him or her and just feed them. they will cry and scream but the more you do it, the more they get used to it. you might want to start out with something they will really enjoy like fruit. Your baby may not "ball" as much heheh. but it is something that needs to be done and you will be glad you did it! Best of luck hunn!

well your baby should be gaining from 1/2 lb to 1lb a month from the time he's born........so say on average about 15 lbs.......
And what do you mean by MILK?....
breastmilk? or cow's milk?
I hope it's just breastmilk......not cow's milk.
Here's a feeding guideline for your baby AND you should talk to your doctor
