The air bags of the 300 SEL series are unique to the series.

The 300SE I6 3.0 engined, the 300SEL V8 4.5, and the 300SEL V8 6.3 all have the same bags. The front shocks are different between each model as the weight on the front is different due to the different engines.

The advice not to try and change out the bags to some other method of "spring" is excellent advice.

The air bags on your 300 SEL are for the suspension system. If you are inquiring to change the system, don't change it. A search of replacement parts would be the smart move. once you "change" its originallity , what will you want to change next? Keep it like it is, one of a kind! Good luck!
