I serve in the US Air Force and I have an American Flag in my room, but I really find what you have as a question as pretty ignorant. You do realise that the US only makes/creates maybe 15-20% of the items used inside the US. I don't find it unpatriotic at all. This trade and use of products from other countries promotes the idea of a freedom of choice and even enhances the US's economy. Many of those other countries turn around and buy our products too. Let me guess, you're one of those people that believe watching baseball is patriotic and such. It's an Italian game, moron. I buy non-American products because many of the times they are better made and cheaper. Let me ask you, what brand TV do you have? I can also guarantee you that the parts in your red, white, and blue colored computer were all made in Canada or Taiwan just about. Did you know that as far as Hockey goes, there are more US teams than canadian. It's a worldly sport and a fun one to watch and play at that. I say grow up and get it out of your head that anything unamerican means it's an act of treason, immorality, or just plain unpatriotic because it's not.

Well, then don't buy white bread because wheat isn't native to this country. In fact, many foods are off limits to you because they were imported into this country.
Not that you'd be able to drive to the store on the streets, anyway. Asphalt didn't originate in the US. Don't read a book or a newspaper, either, because the printing press was invented by a European, not an American. And shut the computer off because a fair number of its components are apt to be made in other countries.
Oh, and whatever you do, don't get choked up by the sight of the Statue of Liberty because she was a gift from France. Come to think about it, Betsy Ross was still techically a citizen of England when she made the first flag, so don't salute that, either.
I hope you're starting to see the pattern that's emerging here. The United States is immeasurable richer for all the things that people and other nations have contributed to us.

What in the world? Is there something otherworldly about watching ice hockey and soccer? I try to buy American when I can, but if I can't afford it, I don't. That doesn't make me unpatriotic.

Because it's fun. Being such a party-pooper is unpatriotic.

I can't afford to buy American because my American company doesn't pay me enough.
Anyway, Americans play hockey and soccer, too, ya know.
