There are a couple of things to consider. Some have only a few preset stations, and if you aren't able to find a clear channel on one of those stations, it doesn't work for you. Some let you scan the entire range of frequencies - these are better, but if you're in a heavily metropolitan area, you still will have trouble finding a clear frequency.

Even if you are able to find a clear channel, the sound quality is noticeably worse than listening to a radio station, CD, or your iPod through headphones. You're transmitting this to your radio - it's like the quality of a letter after you fax it. The original is crystal clear, but the fax is a little fuzzy. Same with the iPod transmitter. I have one, and I wish I'd returned it when I had the chance.

I have an Airplay transmitter. It allows for station 88-107. It really all depends on where you are and if you can find a clear station. Sometimes its great, other times its not. The quality is not as good as listenting to the radio. Get yourself a car cd player with an AUX in line - that way you can just plug your ipod into the radio.

It's O.K., but matters where you are. On a scale of 1-10 i would give it a 7.

1 being the lowest
10 being the highest

Depends on the one you get. My husband got one that works great on the highway, but gets too much interference around town. I think if you get one with more station options (his has four) they work better.
