Some say toothpaste but the ones made now can sting because of so many diff flav. In your home you have pickles and or butter till your husband can go and get Aloe with menthol it blue at Walgreen’s and its about $5 for a good size bottle always keep one around. If it has a bubble don’t pop it if it coves a large area then don’t cove it cause the cloth can stick to it and tear skin that is healthy to make it better the best is to see the doc ASAP. Also don’t stick it in water because the water can shed the skin away that protects it to grow the health skin.

Having redness is first degree, any amount of blistering is second, but the concern would be any areas that are numb which is the hallmark of third degree burns. This happens when an affected area is injured deep enough to affect your touch sense nerves. The overlying skin looks greyish. Though it doesn't hurt, this injury is slow to heal and scars. Particually bad if it's large or circumferential (all the way around).
Assuming you don't have any concern that any portion could be third degree and pain is your only issue, then I agree that ice, aloe, cool compresses, and pain meds like tylenol are the way to go. When using ice, you need to take a break every fifteen minutes in order to avoid injury from the cold (frostbite).

Try get an Aloe Vera plant, break one of the leaves and there's gel inside rub it on the burn, or else get aloe vera gel from the chemist. But the real plant is best, handy to have one in the house for all skin conditions, so it's worth buying one for again.

RUn cold water over it. Then dry it off, and rub it with a cream that has vitamin C or crushed viatmin E. I once burnt my wrist,
and the vitamin rubbing was the adivce, I received.

How bad was the burn ? There are over the counter medications that can help .. but you could also see a Doctor on Friday .. if the area of the burn is large, or severe. Good Luck ! :)

Apply tooth paste to the injury. for some reason the coolness of menthol in the tooth paste makes the swelling go down and helps it heal.

Aloe gel should help. I know that butter is a home remedy but I've heard that it actually holds in the heat.

The sap of Aloe Vera plant... applied directly is like magic. See if you can get one at a nursery. Keep it alive, so you have it handy whenever you burn yourself again.
