I had that happen to me a few years ago, Walmart was selling the White Amazing Amy cheaper than the Black one. I know this because I was buying one for a neighbor (who is white) and two for myself (I am black). i called it to the managers attention and he changed the price of the black dolls to match the white. Bring it to managements attention because often times the sku numbers are different and makes are made.

No. You answered your own question. The store is in a prodominately white area. There is not enough demand for the black and hispanic dolls. If it were the other way around, at a store where the area was predominately black or hispanic, would it be too surprising that the white dolls were on discount because they don't sell well? It wouldn't be discrimination, just simply supply and demand.

Why would it be discrimination? If the store does not sell the dolls, then they have too many and they lower the price. In the case of the cp dolls, they get new ones in new clothes every season and have to sell thru the old ones. More to the point, is it reverse discrimination that the store has to stock darker-skinned dolls even though they don't sell any?

I'm black. I don't see discrimination. I see the law of Supply & Demand at it's finest. Since the store probably received close to an equal number of all colors, and they're in a caucasian community, the dolls that "look" most like the buyers are going to sell. Maybe they'll more of the discounted ones and spread some culture. If it were me, I'd buy a car-load and sell them on eBay for a profit!
Discrimination takes two forms: Actual and perceived.
This case, the store probably wrung its hands and discussed it, and hoped that people understood economics. Big supply, low demand, lower price.
This case... perceived.

simple ,,you asked and answered the question, look at the rationale of the store they sell to more caucasions so they stock more of the light dolls,, and less black ,or brown, because the population determines the need and the supply follows ,, heres a poser is it racism not to have an asian or a native american girl dolly hmmmmm,, theres a case for discrimination for the natives, at least the brown folkes are able to find a doll ,,the price being less means they dont move many of that item ,,its about the dollar ,,when looking at a crime see where the money goes ,,and in business thats the prime mover for the owners

What other ethnicity's aren't able to purchase dolls in their race? If you aren't happy with that store go to another one until you find what you want...better yet just check out eBay! You don't have to shop at that store, you are FREE to shop elsewhere...besides isn't there enough racism in this country that you have to be mad at a store because the doll you want isn't white? What's up with that? You do still have the right to shop elsewhere, personally I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

you don't have a question, but you have a problem. do not underestimate "discrimination" and -- lower its status to the degree of "abuse of rights" -- yes, if you do question every bit of colour in a doll -- as you stated -- then -- every other merchandise whether black or while or yellow -- becomes subject of your scrutiny. stop it now. discrimination is completely another level -- higher level of distinction. i rest my case and so should you -- long time ago.
sleep over it tonight.

What is the point, should you buy at regular price, to be correct,
they are at a discount, because no one is buying
