All employers MUST pay accrued vacation pay if it is earned whether you quit or not. The employer either must pay 4% from the last vacation time. It is the law.

Vacation is not mandated for companies to give, so they're not legally bound to pay you unless you're covered by some kind of contract that says you are. State laws might vary on this.

That said, most companies have policies to pay of vacation time to employees who quit. In many cases, you're getting vacation this year because of the time you worked the previous year, so they'll usually give it to you. A usual way of doing this is extending your payroll end date from your actual last day up to the number of days vacation you have left. Or some companies will just give you a final check that includes the pay for the additional days.

If you quit without giving a notice you will not collect vacation pay. It may be different state to state.

It depends on the companies policy. Certain companies ( EDS) don't pay out vacation time if you quit. My advice, use it prior to quitting. I hate to say this, but if you are a salaried employee call in until you burn your time.

Depends upon your contract, they d have to pay you for hours actually worked, but holiday entitlement is different with each employer. Usually it is paid, but it doesn't always have to be paid.
