I don't know this book, but if you are wondering about ANY book and whether it is reliable, there are a few things to look for.
1) does the author have a degree. Is it a real degree from a well known school? Is the degree in the subject that the book is about. (Like if its a book about taxes, you want someone with a degree in Accounting!)
2) is the book published by a company that publishes a lot of books in that area. So, if you want a book about skiing, look for a publisher that has 300 or 400 titles about sports and mountain sports...
3) is the publisher a real company or is it just the author publishing his own book. If I believe in UFOs and no one wants to publish my book about little green men, I can start my own publising company and get the book printed.
4) are there endorsement or reviews of the book. Pretty often when a bookis published the author will get famous experts to write a omment about it and then put the comment on the cover of the book. So if I want to read a book about fishing, I would get some prize winning fishermen and maybe a fish biologist and some park rangers to write comments. The comments should be from people who are experts in that particular area. Not someone who is an expert on hot air balloons or banking.
5. There are probably a lot of reviews or essays about the book on the web. If the author claims that his ideas are "new" or "amazing" or something like that, then you can be sure that lots of experts in that area will have made comments. I can't write a book about baseball and claim that I know how to win the world series without some baseball fans saying what they think about my world shaking ideas.
