Dye stains are one of the hardest to get out the carpet. I would recommend using a wet vac and slowly pour hot water (from a kettle) on he spot and vacuum it up at the same time, (this will remove the residue from the stain). If the stain is still visible than try putting dishwashing soap (2 or 3 drops into one cup of water. Dampen a white towel with the soap and water and lay it over the stain. Then place a clothes iron on the top of the stain. Make sure the setting is on "LOW". Let this sit for about ten minutes DO NOT press down (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain). The stain will start to transfer into the cloth. Keep on using a clean area in the cloth. Repeat until there is no more dye transfer to the cloth. After this you should rinse the area again with the wet vac and water.

If it just happened, pour at least a quart of cool water on the stain to flood it. The water dissolves the Kool-aid and then you can press towels into the water to blot it out. I had a friend who had new off-white carpeting and at our choir Christmas party, someone spilled the whole bowl of red punch onto the middle of the carpet walkway. She didn't even blot the punch... just flooded it with three gallons of water, then started blotting. She told me later there was no stain at all.
If it's been there a while, or has set, then add Oxy-clean to the cool water. You can try a bit of dishwasher powder to lighten the stain. I also suggest a professional carpet cleaner look at it.

Ok get this! I once had a neighbor that spilled cherry jello on the carpet... she took a small carpet sample to the paint store, matched it and diluted it a bit, then she poured it slowly onto the stain, blotted it and repeated several times. It made the carpet a little hard but it hid the stain :)
I have never been able to get a koolaid stain out of anything! *hah*
Good Luck!

If the kids spill red juice or Kool-Aid on the carpet, pour table salt on the wet area and watch it bring the stain right up. Vacuum the salt and repeat until all is gone.

I use Spot Shot available from Wal Mart Lowes Home Depot or most grocery stores in the laundry detergent aisle.
For stubborn carpet stains that won't go away, try Spot Shot® Instant Carpet Stain Remover. Spot Shot removes spots and stains instantly, without rubbing, scrubbing, or vacuuming! Specifically formulated with powerful cleaning agents, Spot Shot removes pet stains, cola, wine, urine, shoe polish, grease, ink, lipstick, blood, and thousands of other stains.
Additionally, Spot Shot removes both oil-based and water-based stains, regardless of age, and won't leave any rings or residue
Or you might try this
Carpets/Upholstery:
1) A great non-toxic carpet stain remover is club soda. Soak spot immediately with soda and blot until the stain is gone.
2) Pet Urine on Carpets: Dab area with toweling to absorb as much as possible, wash spot with liquid dish detergent, and rinse with 1/2 cup vinegar diluted in 1 qt warm water. Lay towels or paper towels over the spot and weight down to absorb excess moisture. Let stand 4 to 6 hours, then remove toweling, brush up nap and allow to dry completely. Use an electric fan to speed drying.
3) Red wine stains can be removed from carpet by rubbing baking soda in and vacuuming.
4) Sprinkle cornstarch onto carpet, vacuum.
5) To remove grease spots from carpets, first sop up the liquid with a sponge, then rub a liberal amount of baking soda into the spot. Let it absorb overnight. Next day, remove the excess and vacuum the area.
6) To remove grease spots from carpets, first absorb excess with a sponge, then rub a liberal amount of corn starch into the spot. Let sit overnight, then vacuum.
7) Dry cornstarch sprinkled on rug and vacuumed.

I currently use a product from vinylpro.com called red relief. I use it on automotive carpets however and it works very well. The process is very simple. Just need to ask if it is recommended for house carpet. They also offer Red One, but I haven't tried this yet.

Club soda or carbonated water works really well. Just let it sit on there for a few minutes and clean it up with carpet cleaner.
