I have a 9 year old son with cerebral palsy and he's getting too big for my car. I'm in the process of buying a used van, but I'm going to need a ramp put in and I don't have the money to do it. A few people said the Lions Club, or Rotary Club. But, I've never had to ask for money from an organization. I'm just not sure where to start.

Another good one is the shriners, they sponser my daughter,5yo w/cerebral palsy. We haven't gotten a van yet,and I'm not sure if they will help.If you buy a new van, both Chevy and Ford have programs that will pay up to 500 and up to 1000$ of the retrofit.I looked for my favorite's links to some site's,but could not find them.Try searching handicap accessible grant.

Dont be afraid to contact Lions or Rotary they are always looking for ways to help a good cause just explain your situation, I'm sure they'd be only too happy to assist with a ramp, though you probably would receive a ramp rather than money, so their clubs not open to rorts....
