When I see the Cubs on television, I see that games are always full to capacity and/or are sold out and not matter if the Cubs are in first place or last place, Cub fans have such a passion for the team? My question, is, why are Chicago Cubs fans so passionate about Cubs baseball no matter how they perform?

I don't know. Something deep in a Cubs fan is also something that SHOULD exist in every human. Never give up... stay true to your friends... don't surrender... protect your bandwagon... keep hope alive.. love your family. People that only crawl out when "their" team is winning make me sick. Other people that only like a team BECAUSE they're good make me sick.

I'm a Bears fan too, so I'm happy... and sick! :)

All the fair weather fans have already left. And for the ones who remain, there is always next year. Cubs do usually start the season fairly well, then drop off, or start the season terribly then make a dramatic comeback which just isn't quite enough. The drama keeps people interested. If I gave a half a damn about baseball at all, I'd be a Cubs fan.

The Chicago Cubs haven't won 1 championship in 80-something years. They are so desperate that the fans don't care if they win or lose, anymore. That's what I think...

They're hope junkies. The team is also owned by a corporation so obviously their marketing is top notch. I'm a South Sider and a Sox fan, and for my whole life I STILL can't figure out why Cubs fans even exist with their "There's always next year" mantra.
