i had an in class discussion today about the genocide in Sudan happening as of right now and it just bothers me that no action is being taken. its quite shameful because people are saying that this is like another holocaust almost, but why is nothing being done by the UN or other countries?

Beacuse Sudan is no t a rich country and doesn´t have oil, or diamonds in others world they are not interesting for the richest countries. By now a think you got the idea.

I can't get really excited about the US going to rescue yet another nation from itself, knowing that the Liberals will be criticizing it as a failure before the first troops even arrive.

tell ya' what when (and its no longer an if rather when) they begin the draft again and you are drafted you can go over there and die trying to save a people being murdered/starved to death by its own people.

Somalia. After that debacle, the US will probably never help a poor african nation again. It also doesn't help that militarily there isn't much we can do.
