LOL!!!
I was working on this for so long untill I realized that the problem is NOT POSSIBLE.
The question says 1,600 tickets were sold and the total profit from those 1,600 tickets is $1,460. For this problem to be possible the price of a ticket would have to be under a dollar. However the question states that tickets were $3.00 and $5.00 so the question is not possible.
Think about it. If each ticket was sold for $1.00 (for both adult and student) and 1,600 tickets were sold the profit would be $1,600 dollars. Which is higher then the $1,460 profit stated.
Lol I can't believe i didnt catch that at first sight...
However if you were to solve this question this would be the answer (the answer however is not possible).
160 student tickets were sold
-(negative) 1,670 adult tickets were sold.

Let A be number of adult tickets, B be number of student tickets.
A + B = 1600
5A + 3B = 1460.
5(1600 - B) + 3B = 1460
8000 - 5B + 3B = 1460
6540 = 2B
B = 3270, which is impossible.
So either I made an error, or you didn't copy the problem correctly.
