hi i'm a 16 y.o guy and i don't need to use deodorant because my sweat doesn't smell bad... i do sweat but it doesn't smell bad... why is this?
will it smell later? will it never smell? do i have a problem?

Sweat only smells when bactiria gets to it, so keeping your pits clean will stop them smelling.

Hey - you know I've got the exact same thing as you do... I've NEVER had to wear deodorant, and the case has always been that my armpit never stink. I do sweat of course, but even after I do a workout, it just doesn't smell. And believe me I've wondered about this for years and years... and my family and friends have all agreed that I'm lucky not to have to put deodorant on. So, all those other posts that tell you otherwise to second-guess yourself... well... maybe it's just armpit envy huh? I don't know exactly why this is the case... there's a ton of info online to let you know exactly how odor occurs in the pits, but fo me... I'm sticking with genetics. Quite a few people in my mother's side of the family have the same thing as I do. Hey... just be happy!!!!!!!!

No ones sweat actually smells--it's the reaction of the sweat on bacteria under the arm and on the skin surrounding the sweat pores that causes odor. You just might be a little cleaner than other people or naturally have less bacteria

My husband is the same way - his sweat doesn't smell. He still uses deodorant since it's also an antiperspirant, and wet armpits aren't attractive!

I think it's a genetic thing. My husband is Korean, it might be an Asian thing for all I know.

BO is not necessarily a bacterially caused odor, much of the body odor guys generate is hormonally produced, our male scent glands are under our arms, other mammals have them on other parts of their bodies--like cats have them on the sides of their heads (which is why they rub their heads on everything-marking). You might be lucky and just don't have BO, some guys don't, or your scent glands might not yet be active, so be aware if someone says "Dude, you reek!". Then start using deodorant. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to get anti-perspirant for your sweaty pits without getting some type of deodorant included in it. Go for unscented if you can.

that's a good thing, the stink in sweat is toxins & impurities, when a man begins working out after getting out of shape his sweat stinks as he gets healthier the sweat smells less & less.

It may not smell at that exact moment but when it dries up it will, your body temp is controlled by your thyroid, it might be why you sweat you should get it checked out.
