The house opposite mine is about a hundred yards away and the chap living there flashes me every morning. I don't like to get out my binoculars in case that sends the wrong message (Males are very sensitive). What is the polite response?

Are you sure it's you he's flashing?
Perhaps you should ask around the neighbourhood to see if anyone else has noticed...a few more observers and then enough evidence to call the police.

Harriet!! Where the devil have you been - I've missed you.
Anyway - you're right, don't get the binoculars out, he'll be mightily upset. I did that once with an ex - while he was beside me in bed - and he never spoke to me again.
You could get a little cctv camera and point it towards his window, then watch the tape at your leisure - zooming in where necessary.
When you get bored you can always flog the footage on Ebay.
