When it comes to wearing shadow with this look, it's usually a good idea to keep its colour soft and neutral. Try using a light cream shadow all over the lid and a warmer taupe in the crease. Your eyes will have warmth and definition without looking overdone.
The right tool is essential in achieving the heavily lined look. For liquid liner you want to use a point liner brush. This tiny, precision brush will allow you to draw a clean, even line. Many women close their eyes when applying liner, which leads to a bumpy uneven line. Instead, keep your eye open. This will make it easier to follow the contour of your lashline.
When using liner don't feel like you have to paint one continuous line. One easy technique involves drawing three dashes - one at the inner corner, one in the middle of the lash line and another at the outer corner. Then, go back and connect the dashes. For the thick Audrey Hepburn look, fill in your liner slowly. After you've established a clean base line, start the brush at the middle of your lashes and slowly build up the outer line, extending the liner slightly out and just beyond the eye.
A fun way to add even more drama to this look is by using false eyelash singles. These tiny individual lashes can be glued to the outer corner of the top lashline for a great 'doe-eyed' effect.
Don't be afraid of making mistakes with liquid liner. After all, practice makes perfect. However, if your liner does go astray, a little water or eye make-up remover on a cotton bud will correct the problem. Good luck.

Regular eyeline is more soft and natural where as liquid is pretty bold. I find it hard sometimes that liquid is messy so I would suggest this. If you put a small then line of regular eyeliner than putting liquid over it I get good results because it's not near as messy. I think it just depends on which look your going for soft or bold.

I think Lancome makes something called Artliner - it's a cinch to apply but it's expensive.
Otherwise you can try a cream eyeliner and get an eyeliner brush - try Merle Norman - you just draw it on. I like their colors Aubergine and Brown.
Eyeliner will look different depending upon the shape of your eye, if you are young it will look the best.

Use a liquid eyeliner on top of your lids starting at the middle of the eye and extend out to the crease. Be sure you are close to the mirror so that you wont smudge. Take your time with it. If you dont you will smudge.

I hate the stuff! If you must use it, be sure to wipe the sides of the brush so it's not too goopy and start from the inner corner of the eye and go outwards. Another thing- start with thinner lines.

Just line your lashes with the brush. I wipe some off the tip first. Prop your elbow on something and remember that practice makes perfect.

well liquid eyeliner is made for you top eyelid. at the eyelash line, it has a thin point to slide across your lid, many girls use it wrong and use it for their top AND bottom which doesn't look nice.

first line your eyes with a pencil eyeliner.
then retrace the line with your liquid eyeliner.
make sure you don't open your eyes right away.
leave them closed for about 10-15 seconds so they can dry.
if you need to fix it, use cotton swabs.
