I'm in school getting a sociology degree but I really really really dont want to. I was orignally going to school to do dental hygiene but I didn't get in the dental hygiene school at my university. So I was wondering instead of letting my parents spend 24,000 dollars on my schooling each year maybe i should go and do something i really want to do. The only problem is that they wont help me pay for a community college education (lol, parents), so I would have to come up with the money myself. What should I do? any ideas?

No matter who is paying the bill, there's not a lot of point in getting a degree in something you don't want. I'm not sure what your intent was to do with a sociology degree, but a bachelors might not buy you much in the way of jobs. Dental hygiene is a field with a lot of job opportunity.
Talk to your parents and let them know you just don't have interest in the soc field.
On the other hand, if you only need a few more credits for your degree, it's probably worth just finishing it up on the theory that any degree is better than no degree.

That is stupid that they wont pay for the community college but will pay for university. Let them know it is the same program just university wants you to get a BS and not just an AS. You can get the same job for the same money with the AS!
Just keep applying to the University program then because it will be hard to come up with the money yourself. Take classes you need for DHY, such as bio 1, 2, chemistry 1, Anatomy and physiology 1, 2, and Medical microbiology and get high grades in those. Then apply again everytime you complete a class.
