Hmm, i dunno, guess it depends.

Sometimes people need to hear the truth, even if it is a bit negative. So it can help to be negative, but you should always be encouraging afterwards.

And also, hearing positive comments are good to. They can help you out and solve your problems without making the asker too depressed or upset.

So it really depends on the question i think, for me anyways.

Even a negative comment can still be delivered as a constructive comment. So there is really no - comment.
