Because when I have my period and use one, it leaks, but the tampon isnt even all way absorbed. And it seems like it's only bleeding on one side.

You don't bleed evenly in your period, and one side of the tampon may get more of a 'hit' than another. There is a ring of muscle just inside the entrance to the vagina that helps to hold a tampon in. If you sit and you can feel the tampon, then it is not in far enough. It should go no farther in than the length of your index finger. You can't really put it too far in, because you would hit your cervix and the opening there is much too small to admit a tampon. If your flow is especially heavy, you may need to change the tampon more often, or get a more absorbent type.

There is a ridge on the tampon itself, that you put your fingers on when you slide it it. Put it all the way in until your vagina hits that ridge, then PUSH it in with that plunger thing. Relax your body, even stand with your legs in a semi squatting position to open it up. It definately sounds like you aren't getting it in all the way. Plus, if your vagina is dry, it won't slide in very good either.

You should hold your tampon with two fingers where the applicator meets the part that you push in. Insert the tampon until your finger touches your skin, then push the tampon in. Hope that makes sense.

Put it up as far as you can get it. I think there is a diagram in the tampon package. Just don't put it in so far it hurts. I usually can't get them in but an inch or two. Make sure you are calm, so your muscles will be relaxed. If you tense up, it will be difficult.

When you pu it in, before you push the cotton in, your two fingers (middle and index) touch your vagina...that's when you push in the cotton, are you sure you're using the right size?
