I am not quite sure if it's a girl or boy who is turning the big 14!!! But, one thing is for sure that, at this age if you are not trying to surprise the person, it really would be a good time to let them plan the party them-self because they are not grown yet but, not a little kid anymore either, so me, myself I have two girls, one 9 and the other is 11 and I will soon be going through this same thing in a few years and I have already decide that I will let her help me make the plans, you know like what will be the theme of the party if there is one, and what people will be invited because they do have their own friends, and that way we (as parents) can find out who they are hanging with, but anyway, make sure that they are apart of all of the major decisions because it is after all about them coming to a new older age, not quite grown but, not longer a baby.......Good Luck....with everything......................
