I'm trying to gather information about folks' experiences trying to navigate child custody issues.

The anonymous survey is at www.custodyiq.com/survey.html

I use the information to write articles and guidance at www.custodyiq.com that can best help parents survive the family law experience and try to influence good outcomes for themselves and their kids.

Please take 4 minutes to share what you've been through at www.custodyiq.com/survey.html

Thanks very much for your help.

I did not have a hard time with getting custody of my son. My ex showed up in court and did not fight one bit about giving me custody. Yet my current husband had to fight with every thing he had to get even joint custody of his children. He had to go out and hire a lawyor because the court's wanted to give sole custody to the mother. It ended up being a long drawn out process before the mother finally agreed to joint custody. And it did not end there with the troubles for him. He still has to fight weekly to see his children, even though it is court ordered that he sees them every weekend, she will take off for the weekend and not let him know where the children are. The courts do not help him at all. When he complains, the courts threaten to take the children away from both of them and put the in foster care. So it just depends on who is willing to work out the problems.

if you are really trying to gather information and people's personal experiences (THAT"S IF YOU"RE REALLY TRYING TO HELP) click on my little avatar thingy and send me an email. I got one that needs serious attention so as to never happen again. My name is jeff.

But, before I share anything with you, I want to know who you are and what is the purpose of your study. I can tell you a couple of the most horrific stories you have ever heard.

with mine.....dead beat dad..wanted to be the worlds famous dad when it suited him. he left when i was 6 months along and had 2 already. no money for utilities, food nothing. even denied that the baby was his. pretty bad when the "father of the year" was "working" 2 jobs but nothing to show for it. Now all the kids are grown, and two of the three have very little to do with him.during the course of all the years there were several times that the courts tried to make me look bad.
