Hello "bill w",
I would look around to see if the coast it clear then bend down toward the red fox and bust out a bag of candy and pour all of it in its bag as sly as I could. Then get back up again and check if anyone saw me. If not, then bend back down and tell the red fox, "you didn't get this from me" lol.
