I'm 100% against gay marriage - that's for a man and a woman (excluding those who've "become" the opposite gender thanks to surgery.)

But I do think its Ok for gays to be gay, just not marriage (and no adoption since a child needs a mother and a father)

I'm not in the US but if I were I'd vote Republican.

I think that there is no rationalization for homosexuality, and that it does not occur without underlying negative issues. That being said, I enjoy the freedom that allows homosexuals to be whatever they want to be, and think that they have every right to live together or whatever. I do not think that they should be allowed to marry and enjoy the benifits (government given and otherwise) that marriage gives to a man and a woman. These benefits are given to a married couple to encourage and assist them when they have children and raise a family. The family structure is the basis of our country, and homosexuals inherantly can't natrally raise a family. They should not enjoy the benefits of marriage.

I would say I'm for it until someone forces me to marry some guy. :-) Seriously, I think it is really a no-brainer. Two consenting adults is two consenting adults. I actually work in family law, so I see the state of marriage every day. It isn't good, folks, and it's state of disarray has nothing to do with gay people! If your marriage is screwed up, don't look to point a finger at people who are gay. Look inward. Look at the relationship, where it was, where it is, and how to fix it...if you can. Looking to ban gay marriage to "protect marriage" is absurd, and I also think that these bans violate one of the foundations of our entire legal system...equal protection under the law. So there is two cents and a strong "In Favor" from a straight guy in Minnesota...another state this issue is being debated by the legislature.

Anyone who says they are OK with gays but not gay marriage is lying and they are not really OK with gays at all. They believe that gays dont deserve the same basic civil rights that all Americans have.

As a gay American who was formerly married in a heterosexual marriage. I am in favor of gay marriage but I can say, I personally have no plan to marry again.

Oh yes, and I am a Democrat of course.

I am for Civil Unions between same sex couples. I don't like the term marriage (because it is of religious connotation). I think they should have the same rights as any married couple and enjoy the benefits of that union.

I am a conservative Democrat

I think Britain has gotten the balance right by calling it civil partnerships. Marriage has been between men and women for thousands of years and it is supremely arrogant of judges to decide this is discriminatory. It is no more discriminatory than to say only a woman can be a wife. That's the way it is.

I honestly have no feeling about it. I am not against it, if two people love each other then who are we to tell them no to marry. Right? But I know that legally it says to enter into marriage man and women. so we have all the legal bull.

I'm for gay marriage. I'm a moderate Dem and yes I think gay people deserve to be happy. They're humans just like anyone else. By the way, lesbians should have the right to get married if they want too.

I'm a Democrat and it doesn't make a bit of difference to me one way or the other. If a couple loves each other and is willing to make a committment to each other, what the hell difference does it make? Aren't there a lot more serious problems in the world (the war for example) than whether two people in love with each other can get married? Personally, I can't see it, but different strokes for different folks.
