Start deleting programs you don't want or use. Not that it's really going to give you much space. If you have anything less than an 80 gig, UPGRADE!!!

Go to "Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs" then go down the list of programs YOU'VE NEVER USED. Remove the programs you have not used and most likely never will. If you happen to be using one but don't know it (in the "background") it will not undelete and will give you an error so that you will not delete a "working" program.
When this is done. Download a "trial offer" of "System Mechanic Professional 6" from http://www.tucows.com/ and do a search for "system mechanic pro."
However, then go to the recycle bin on the desktop and delete everything in it. Go to Start / Programs / Accessories / Windows Explorer and open Explorer up. Go to "My Computers" and click on your "C:\" drive and see how much free space you have on it now. JUST right-click on "C" drive and click on PROPERTIES.

you need to get a bigger HD. if you run out of space your computer won't have room to move things around and will start to corrupt the files and the system will crash. Uninstall any programs your not using, defrag the drive and get a registry cleaner software too.

do a defragment, see if that frees up any space. if you can't find that program, go under search and type in defragmentization. See if that helps.

Get rid of old files you no longer need! Be careful, however, in what you delete.
