Flyleaf, Plumb, Evanescence [though I hate that band], & I've been hearing about Paramore, but I have no idea if they're emo or just indie.

Evanescence would be a good choice. Generally, emo seems to be a fairly male dominated genre with most women in the she done me wrong category.
