It sounds a bit insecure but i understand what men mean when they say that.. It leaves room for alot of temptetion even if nothing ends up being done. You start to compare your husband to those other men you meet outside and only if you love is strong, true and very steadfast, it takes only the right kind of guy to sweep you off your feet, at the right time.. I don't see why women shouldn't stick with their husbands and girlfriends....

But the same should go for the guys, if you're asking your wife not to socialize with other men, then, you shouldn't socialize with other women. You should always be there for your wife and treat her like you did on your honeymoon.. Buy her flowers and cute presents and never stop telling her that you love her... Spice it up in the bedroom department...Keep your love evergreen!

Some would answer that you are trying to control your wife... however I wonder why she has put you in this situation in the first place.

I guess it depends on what you mean by socializing. Personally I wouldn't want to be out on the town with any man other than my partner.

My ex bf however, got all upset because he saw me having a conversation with a man from my class. I was taking night classes and this other man was in a group project that I was involved in and we were talking outside as I was waiting for my bf to pick me up.

To me there is a big difference between talking and hanging out. But both would be considered as socializing.

You should't have to control your gf but she should be able to control herself more if she really loved you.

You are insecure. You should have told her how it makes you feel or what you think certain behavior may lead to, but not wanting her to socialize with other men is over the top. Maybe you should clean up the thoughts you are having about other women, that may solve the problem

That depends on what you mean by "socialize". If she has contact with the world OUTSIDE of your home, odds are she will eventually come across another male she will have to communicate with. But I'm pretty sure you mean flirt, yeah? If she respects you as her husband, she'll keep her flirting to a minimal. Having said that, don't be over-controlling with her, because that could have the opposite effect - maybe she'll go overboard on the flirting which could lead to cheating. Let the woman have some air to breath, she is human! :)

There is nothing wrong with a guy asking his wife not to socilaize with other men. If you dont trust her. I mean its human nature for men and women to socialize. Whats wrong with her talking to other men has she done something disrepectful when she does?

A LOT is wrong with that, cause that is pointing to possesionjust the same as if a wife told her husband not to talk with other females, it's wrong and there will end up being problems

Define socialize. Office lunch? Business dinner? Happy hour after work with a group of coworkers? Dinner with a personal friend and you're not invited?

I think it's appropriate for couple to set boundaries for their relationship but you need to really take a look at whether they are reasonable especially if she's in the business world.

Um, because that is SOOOOOO 1950's. Dude, this is 2006. Are you that insecure that you can't trust your wife to socialize with other guys. Do you socialize with other girls or is this a one way street? She's going to socialize with other men, at work, out, whatever. I think you need to chill with your insecurities. Unless of course she's given you a reason to be insecure...

Don't make your wife suffer because of your insecurities. She is a person and she has the right to socialize with whom ever she wants to. Did she tell you not to speak to any woman?
