i own a repair shop, and if your smelling it on the inside of the car it might have a tiny pin hole in the heater core causing it to smell like that ,a small hole wont leak a lot of coolant out but just enough for you to smell it,and some times it will sort of fog up the wind shield on it if you put it on defroster and leave it on there for a while, and it will leave a slick feel on the glass, other wise it may be an out side leak or a gasket that has blown on it ,causing it to leak a very small amount out of it, just check it out good and if you cant find it you might want to take it to a good mechanic and let him see if he can find it,good luck i hope this help,s.

Do you check with engine running at operating temp. ?? When you shut down the engine the cooling system creates a vacuum within a very short while. Any leaks would disappear.
Be sure to check all hose connections around water pump area, a leak can be there and not drip for a long time, just collects in depressions on the engine and evaporates.
Check under car, if you have auto. tranny there are water lines to the radiator from tranny.

You may have a small leak in the heater core which is a small radiator for the heating system and would leak inside the car. A rad shop can check by doing a pressure test.
