We've been very close friends since 6th grade (we're now 27). She's been doing my hair for a couple years. She's OK, but not outstanding. And god knows how expensive haircut and colors are, so I want to go somewhere else where I'll get an amazing style.

How can I break it to her without hurting her feelings or making her mad. Cause obviously she's gonna notice after I get it done.

P.S. Please give me actual suggestions...not just "if she's your friend, she'll understand" crap.

Tell her that this other person you're going to go to came HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by a bunch of people you know (coworkers or some group of people that she doesn't know) and you really want to give the new person a try and see how they do.... Or tell her you got a gift certificate from someone to go to that other person, so since it's free you're going to go to the other person. Just lie about the reason why and you won't have to hurt her feelings.

Tell her you've had the same stylist for a long time and don't want to change.

Just tell her that you want a change and that she probably can't do it. Tell her you want something more 'pizzaz' =D It wouldn't break her heart that way.
