Alberto we already have laws that prevent someone who is ineligible to vote from voting. Our objective here is to have more people who are eligible to vote actualy get out and vote making it more difficult is not the way to improve the numbers. it is a hradship on some and regardless if it is a hardship or not, All citizens of this country have a right ot vote...that is all we need is to be citizen... proving that someone comitted a felony and voted illegaly is why we have laws and law enforcement officers. I don't think we have a major problem wiht illegals voting if we do lets start arresting them..Haven't heard of many arrest so there must not be a problem..I think the republicans would like to deter some people from voting. Why? Why is that? because the more poor vote the less Republicans there will be huh? yep that is the real issue here isn't it?

Believe it or not, many people don't have drivers ID. Every other form of ID is troublesome to get as well. To suggest that everyone is suppose to spend the great deal of effort to accomplish this, is also to suggest that you don't want certain groups to vote. Those groups won't be able to accomplish the task easy.
Make an easy way to get a legit ID and you would see a reversal on this subject.

Georgia offered to go to the voters and supply IDs paid for by the state, and the Democrats still opposed the plan. The only 'hardship' would have been remembering to take the ID to the polls. Draw you own conclusions.

I register to vote at the Secretary of State (DMV in Michigan), and I have to show them id there. When I go to vote, they look my name up in a computer spreadsheet, check my driver's license. Then I get a ballot.
Why do I need to give the government any more of my time or money to give them yet another way to track me? Why is my driver's license not enough for Republicans? Illegal aliens can only vote if they fake it at the time of registration, so that can be easily solved right at that point.
So why don't you explain to me why I need yet another id.

I am democrat and I support the idea. Except it will be like another license photo, yuck. But I am sure that accommodations could be made to allow anyone to get a picture on a card, that could be worked out. The important thing is to have fair, honest, and open elections, These machines that are in question, throw them out. Use dipping your finger in ink. You have voted. You should be proud to wear a colored finger for a few days.

The main reason in Georgia there is opposition is because the STATE CONSTITUTION does NOT EVEN REQUIRE a photo ID.
And no significant evidential matter of voter fraud has been presented to warrant OVERRIDING the STATE CONSTITUTION.
Furthermore, I don't feel like wasting my precious gas and waiting in line to get a darn Voter ID card to prove I am who I say I am.
I have a Voter Registration Card and per the state Constitution, that is all I need.
The road to hell is paved with plenty of GOOD INTENTIONS!

They Hate Red Tape, Republicans Accuse Democrats for High Taxes, Cutting and Running on Iraq, and Refusing to put a Fence on the Border.
Republicans Close Doors so they Win Elections, Democrats Open the Doors to People so they can Win, and on Illegals They Refuse Have them Deported like Republicans and Minutemen Project wants to happen.

Because most democrats work real jobs and don't have time to hang out at government facilitys to get picture ids. Only 40% of the eligiable people vote now you want to lower that even more.

It would be difficult to allow thousands of dead people to vote if you needed an ID for voting.
Chicago's voting machine would stumble over it's first little snag since the 1920's.
