if I have a 802.11b/g Mini card (54 Mbps) can I connect to WiFi?

on my laptop? if not, how do I do that (in plain english for the computer illiterate)

Yes, the 802 b/g card is a wifi (wireless internet access) capable. It will connect at 54 MBPS speed to any wireless internet hotspot or a wireless router at your home. You do not need any other hardware on your laptop to connect wirelessly to internet.

i dunno about wifi but definitely wireless access for sure.
