For example, the teacher's seating chart is a correspondence that matches each student with a desk. In math a lot of times they will use arrows to show exactly what is matched up with what. You can also use a function, a formula that lets you take numbers and match them up with other numbers. For instance every number can be matched up with a number twice as big with the function f(x) = 2x.
