Sometimes, but not always. It is a lot more "dangerous" this way if you are learning tango as an adult. It is like whole new dimension of non-verbal communication to a beginner dancer. The main message of Tango is Passion. Beginners often don't realize what is happening, is it real or is it acting. If you want to seduce your partner and if your partner wants to be seduced, then Tango is quite effective. However, if one of the sides doesn't want it to happen, it won't happen. Then the other side might get quite frustrated at his/her efforts. I think it is important that both partners understand and realize what do they want to do with their dancing.

It is quite possible to have a professional approach to it: partners dance with each other, still communicate all the messages but all of it is like a stage play, nothing more. If this is what you want - make sure you are clear on it and so is your partner.

Some might say "but you are always in close contact". So what. You just get used to it and almost don't notice it. The contact is actualy is not as close as it looks. If you are an adult, you really learn to handle it.

I know for sure, absolutely without a doubt, that I wouldn't be able to stay out of the sack with my partner if I was a tango dancer. There's just no way. Maybe I wouldn't fall in love with him, but I wouldn't be able to avoid the temptation to rip his clothes off.

That's like asking if Salsa dancers fall in love with their partners...

Love can be unpredictable...blind, or just like Cinderella's story. "Meant to be" kinda stuff...

But from watching the dance itself. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some physical attraction. Of course-there are dancing instructors out there who do partner with other dancers but have no attraction to them at all.

A part of a good tango is the posturing. It isn't the steps. It's as much the gestures and expressions. Othewise, it looks more like gymnastics.

LOL - My dad is a dance instructor, and he became infatuated with his MUCH younger student. He was teaching her Argentine Tango, a very seductive dance. She was a tease and was married to boot. Not sure if there was any "activity" between them besides dancing, but her husband became very jealous and put a stop to the lessons abruptly.

There are occasions when they do fall in love but that doesn't necessarily mean they will. i know of some dance partners who are brother and sister. Watch Dirty Dancing 2, he dances with many girls but does not fall in love with all of them. i know that this is just a movie but dancing is dancing and love is love. Sometime they intertwine but this is definitely not always the case.

don't be afraid of taking lessons because u think u will fall for your instructor or partner.

I am sure it has happened before, but that does not mean it will with you.
