Several times this week during TV. appearances, President Bush has referred to our Secretary Of State, as 'Condi". I find it strange; he wouldn't refer to Rumsfield as Rummy, or the vice President as Dick , etc. Does anyone else find it a mite too chummy, or just plain patronizing?

I vote, too, and I don't hear Junior calling Bush Sr. Dad during a formal address to the nation. Of course Ms. Rice is very bright, and god knows that Bush needs some smart around him. Especially an old family friend. But, Condi ?????

It doesn't seem like a very professional thing to do. It is strange and sounds like some sort of pet name, which is completely inappropriate for the president to be doing... especially on national television.
