How about we let them have one vote, the same as everybody else, and count everybody's vote?
I have nothing but respect for the men and women serving this country in our armed forces -- but doing so doesn't give them any more right to decide an election. This is a country of and by ALL the people. If we only count the military, we're no better than some two-bit military dictatorship. No thanks.

because i pay my taxes as well and if i decide to vote then i should be able to excercise that privilige. if you join the ,ilitary you should consider war as an option. death is part of war as is survival. anything can happen in war and in life. i would bet that more people have died from car accidents than in war. the men and women in the armed forces are there because they joined, they chose the job. in my world you dont get treated special when you take a risk and suffer the consequence. if war kills them they die with my respect because they joined with my respect. my family has sent many men to war. i couldnt join any branch(tried them all) because they wouldnt accept me for medical reasons. thier rules, not mine. i refuse to be taught that i should elevate some for doing the tough jobs. you make your own choices in this life. if you choose danger then you risk your life.

Nope. All taxpayers have the right to vote. Actually it is more of an obligation for all people who are citizens to vote as that is what the veterans and active service men are fighting to protect.

That wuld be a landslide for the democrats the vast majority of veterans have seen there benifits, wages, and lives become increasingly cheap under the repubs. They understand that they are helping people in iraq but they know that thats not why the repubs sent them there.

Alas, that would not be what democracy is all about. In a true democracy, everyone should have the right to cast a ballot.
I just wish our political parties could pick a candidate that did not make me mildly nauseous when I cast my vote.

Make 2 years military or public service ( voluntary ) a condition and a requirement to vote .

because there are more issues than just the war involved. To be honest I dont know how much the service men and women serving overseas have been able to concentrate on the other issues facing the US. I would think they are pretty busy.
