ok i have a lancer 98 model and yesterday it just would not move it was fine when i drove it half hour before and then i parked got back in and it will not go into gear it makes a whistling sound as though the may be a belt broken any car fan that know what it may be please help

Sounds like that cable the changes the trans has broken. this cable if broken will not let you put it into gear.
It is also possable that where the cable connects to the trans has come off the shift leaver and will not let you put it into gear.

If your car is an automatic then check where cable connects to the transmission. It may have come off. It should pop back on.

THE BELTS ON YOUR CAR DON'T MAKE IT MOVE IF YOUR CAR STARTS AND RUNS BUT WONT GO YOU HAVE TRANNY PROBLEMS I DON'T THINK RESETING THE COMPUTER WILL HELP BUT YOU CAN TRY IT JUST DISCONECT THE BATTERY FOR 15 MIN RECONECT START CAR AND TRY IT OUT

if you put in gear and it did not move your trans could be shot it could have burned the clutches up in the trans
