I guess it depends on if you want to stay depress or get happy. Music that I listen to when I am sad usually has some good lyrics, I like Keane, and I like the Beatles, Clapton and Janis Joplin, Now when I am depressed I usually listen to some hard rock like Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, my boys Kramus, that makes me feel better.

I suppose this depends on if you want to reflect on your sadness for a while or if you want an immediate pick-me-up.

Reflection: I recommend Toad the Wet Sprocket, especially albums Coil, Dulcinea and Fear. (Side note: Hold Her Down is an angry commentary, so I often skip that one if I'm really blue.) Another choice album is U2's The Joshua Tree.

Energize: Fleming and John - "Radiate", Basement Jaxx - "Where's Your Head At?", No Doubt - "Hello Good", Gorillaz - "Feel Good Inc", Prodigy - "Firestarter" & "Breathe"

It depends. Do you want to feel the emotion pour out of you and listen to some mood songs like All by Myself by Celine Dion and Look Away by Chicago. Or do you want to listen to some happy music to perk you up like Feeling Good by Michael Buble (smooth but moody!)

Well I'm not sure if you want to stay depressed, if so then Staind or Linkin Park. If you want to lift your mood maybe some 80s stuff like Heart, Pat Benatar, or Scandal.

Listen to Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood. I mean really listen to the lyrics and see if that doesn't help you. It does help me.
