There is this kid in my class and almost everyone picks on him. One kid especially(he's known as a bully) constantly teases him and often will use physical violence i.e.(pushing, shoving, smacking) I will often step in when I see its getting out of control. I will tell the bully that he should grow up and that it's sad that he has nothing better to do than pick on the poor kid. I don't want to be like a nag, but I don't think I could stand by and watch him be harrassed. The part I can't believe is that he acts like I'm being mean if I call him immature. Also I can't believe the teachers don't see the problem. Am I mean? Am I doing the right thing? I feel like I am, but I hate people to think I'm mean so that kinda threw me off. Thanks

Today the bully put his arm around the kids neck and told another kid to throw stuff and harassed him. I didn't tell him off really but i did tell him to let go of him. I feel so alone, the teachers don't notice. Nobody seems to be on my side, maybe i am being to uptight, but i really don't know what else to do. one of my friends joined in on the laughter. i hate that they treat the kid this way!! WHEN WILL THEY GROW UP!!!!!! now that i'm standing up for him i'm starting to get threats from the bully but i'm not really scared i'm trying to follow your advice and not let it get to me but boy is it hard i just wish someone would back me up

Don't listen to what that bully has to say, I say you're definitly doing the right thing. The truth is your not being mean, it's called standing up for the right thing and if half the kids in that class were smart enough, they'd see that too. I'd probably tell you to just try your best to ignore what other people have to say and do what you think is right, but then again, that can be really hard advice to follow. In any case, next time someone picks on this kid, don't act so uptight and tell them off like you're reallly annoyed and think their immature. Continue defending the poor kid, but don't make it seem like it's your full time job. Hope I Helped
