I like MAC products, but if you're looking for a makeover, try going to a Sephora store. They have all different brands of makeup and also have a skin department, so they can help you with a total look. They're also very helpful!

Depends on your taste. I love MAC if you are looking for something more dramatic. Lancome and Clinique always have great free gifts. Estee Lauder has really pretty pastels that come in those pretty globes although they are probably all out of season by now.

Mac, Clinque. All makeup counters have different products and all their associates are trained to do a good job. Once in a while, someone does't do such a good job as you expect. But don't disregard their makeup, give it another try.
